FITTING BRAS

Sizes may vary from brand to brand and from model to model. Therefore, don't get too attached to one particular size, but rather pay attention to the fit. It may be that your favorite model fits you perfectly in a different size than the one you usually wear.

1 - The UNDERBAND

80% of the fit depend on this! The underband should not be too tight nor too loose. You should feel firmly hugged without feeling squashed. By the way: Close your new bra on the widest or on the middle setting, it will get wider with time.

The underband is running horizontally around your body. This is giving you the optimal support and fit.

If the band is riding up, it is too wide and the shoulder straps are too short. Try a smaller underband size.

The underband is running horizontally around the back but is too tight and is digging in. Choose a wider underband size.

2 - CUP and WIRE

The wire should frame the breast and sit directly at the breast root, i.e. flat on the chest and not on the soft breast tissue. The neckline and armhole lie against your body without digging in or gaping away.

The wire is framing the breast, the neckline and armhole lie flat on the body. You've got it!

The neckline and/ or the armhole are gaping away. The wire is too wide, the bra is sliding down. The cup is too big!

The neckline and/ or armhole are digging in. The wire is too small, the bust is spilling over. The cup is too small!

3 - The CENTRE GORE

The centre gore should sit flat on your chest dividing the breasts.

The wire lies flat on your chest. The bra is supportive and comfortable.

The centre front is gaping away. This doesn't give you enough support. Either the cup is too big or this shape doesn't suit you.

The wires are pinching your chest. The bra is uncomfortable. Either the cup is too small or this shape doesn't suit you.

4 - The SHOULDER STRAPS

Finally, you adjust the straps so that they are not too tight nor too loose.

The straps should not dig in and you should still fit two fingers between strap and shoulder.

The straps are digging in deeply, pressing onto the shoulder. The strap setting is too short.

The straps are too loose and fall from the shoulder. The setting is too long.
